"Love begins by taking care of the closest ones - the ones at home." - Mother Teresa
In the spirit of working towards our International Project during the summer, it is important that we also remember those who live in our own community in Austin.

Habitat for Humanity More information for each event will be provided 2 weeks in prior to the event. There will be a registration form available on this page for you to register for each event when the specific dates have been decided. Nourish membership and individual registration is required to participate. ![]() Guidelines for Habitat for humanity volunteer work:
-We cannot take more than 20 people, so the first twenty people to sign up get priority.
-Before the day of volunteering, online orientation must be done by every individual. Go to http://www.austinhabitat.org, click on volunteer, and go through the registration/orientation process (approx 15 minutes).
-At the end of the orientation session online, print out the liability form. Each of us HAS to bring this with us the morning of site work
-Depending on the individual site, we will depart from The University of Texas campus around 7-7:30 am. Please bring a reusable water bottle and a packed lunch and dress appropriate for both manual labor and weather (sunscreen, hats etc).
Boys and Girls Club
![]() Boys and Girls Club provides a safe place for children as an after school program. We will be volunteering with the South Club, which is very close to The University of Texas campus. This opportunity involves playing with the children and providing them with attention, love, care, and friends!
Guidelines for Boys and Girls Club:
-We will be volunteering on certain Fridays from 3 pm to 6 pm. Check our events calendar for details.
-There will be two sets of rides, one leaving at 3 pm and another at 4 pm from The Littlefield Fountain.
-Be courteous to the caregivers at the club, the only rule they have for us is to be respectful to everyone on site.
-Be ready to have an amazing time and make a child smile!
Front Steps Austin As children, no one ever says, "when I grow up, I want to be homeless." However, homelessness is a reality in our community. Every day Front Steps serves homeless men and women, many of whom have lost hope. We strive to restore their hope and guide them home. We sincerely believe that homelessness is a journey, not a destination. Front Steps’ dedicated staff, board of directors, and volunteers ask you to join us on our Journey to hope.
